This vintage sleeveless long dress is by Alfred Shaheen for vintage size 12. When I compared it to modern size charts, it showed this dress is a 10.
The fabric is a woven poly/rayon blend. Itself a gorgeous Imperial Red with Japanese Chrysanthemums in gold and silver. The flowers are on top of the fabric, not woven in.
The fabric is in great condition. There are a couple of spots near the hem, small spots on the bodice, and under one arm, the metallic looks like it has been scratched. I did rub the spots lightly with a damp cloth and they stayed the same.
It has an empire waist and bateau neckline with slight gathering under the bodice. The best part of the dress is the removable cape added to the back with cloth covered buttons. There’s a zipper under that cape, which goes all the way to the floor.
