Vintage Multi-Strand Blue Glass Seed Bead Necklace Nagaland with Coin Closure, Tribal Jewelry

The necklace measures about 28" around when closed. Weighs approximately 331g. The strands are not 100% uniform as the idea is they sort of twist and layer within themselves.

Here we have a hand-crafted vintage necklace made by the Naga people of Northeast Indian and Northwest Burma, purchased in the 1970s, and featuring blue glass beads. The beads are a traditional style from that part of the world, not round and smooth but rather organic in shape and chunky. They are intended to replicate lapis lazuli, which is a revered stone. They are finished off with red beads at the top that are also mean to replicate another precious material, coral.

I noticed 1 white bead in a strand of blue beads. I noticed a bit of the thread poking out of a stand. The thread looks secure.
