Vintage David Stewart Ceramic Potter Brown Man Face Mug for Lion's Valley Stoneware
Mid Century Modern, circa 1970's. Designed by iconic MCM artisan, David Stewart. Stewart, a prolific potter in the San Diego area of California from the early 50s through the mid-70s, originally sold his art (out of his old van) directly to store merchants, traveling extensively up and down the coast. He eventually gained enough prominence to open his own studio (Lion's Valley Pottery) and sold his creations directly to his customers for many years. His iconic pieces are very popular today and are highly sought after and highly collectible.
The sticker stating Hand Decorated Designs by David Stewart is missing.
