This is a vintage Perko (Perkins Marine Lamp & Hardware Corp.) ship's anchor light lantern which has been electrified for modern use. Perko lanterns were manufactured in Brooklyn, NY. It is brass with a heavy patina due to maritime use. It features a thick, clear Fresnel-style manganese glass lens designed to amplify light for long distances. The glass glows brightly under a 365nm UV light and looks great when the lamp is lit since a vintage fire flicker bulb is included. See the last photo for the Perko stamp on the glass. It stands 9.5” high, can be hung on a hook, and features a 13 foot cord with an on/off switch for convenient use. To change the bulb simply use a flat head screwdriver and pop the bottom open easily like a paint can lid.
