First edition thus compiled, second printing hardcover copy of Poems & Stories by J.R.R. Tolkien (Houghton Mifflin, 1994). Hard to find edition of this collection of short fantasy and poetic works by the iconic author of The Lord of the Rings. Contains: The Adventures of Tom Bombadil / The Homecoming of Beorhtnoth Beorhthelm's Son / On Fairy Stories / Leaf by Niggle / Farmer Giles of Ham / Smith of Wootton Major. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with rubbing/scuffing to faces and shelf wear around the edges. Large faint crease to front cover and with small tear and some creasing to bottom right corner of front cover. Small dent/scratch to top right corner of rear board and with corners bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. All pages clean and unmarked though slightly tanned. See photos for condition.
