This box set compiles on 10 DVDs the television programs that Glenn Gould performed and produced for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Produced and broadcast between 1954 and 1977, this set brings together for the first time all the footage, over 19 hours, of television documentaries, performance scenes, interviews, and discussions that were stored in the CBC archives. Gould was one of the first to recognize the great potential of television as a medium, and his involvement in the production and performance of television programs was of utmost importance to his artistic activities, leaving behind a wealth of video recordings. This time, each TV program is recorded in the format in which it was originally broadcast, allowing viewers to enjoy not only the performances but also Gould's unique and humorous explanations interspersed throughout.
